Inspired by a black bat flower I saw at an orchid show in Rockhampton, I was drawn to its deep tones and unique form. Even though the flower itself is dark, I chose to keep the background light and bright to reflect the beauty that can still exist within darker moments.
This piece speaks to finding light in those spaces, and the quiet strength that comes from it. A reminder that even in darkness, there is still beauty, growth and connection
